Resisting anti-strike legislation (hybrid meeting)

Wednesday 20 March @ 7:30 pm - 8:45 pm GMT

Resisting anti-strike legislation
The Strikes (Minimum Service Levels) Act is the latest in a long line of anti-union legislation. It threatens both workers and unions unless workers scab on their own strikes.
Join this discussion in person or online, on how we defeat the latest Act and all the previous anti-strike laws.
* How do the latest anti-strike laws work and how might they affect disputes?
* What can we learn from industries where lawful action is already impractical?
* What can we learn from previous anti-strike laws?
* How can we defeat the legislation and win a right to strike?
Our speakers will be:
* Dr Emma Runswick, junior doctor and vice-chair of BMA Council
* Ian Allinson, MTUC’s strike solidarity coordinator and author of Workers Can Win
* John Morgan, Manchester NEU
